At Wild Fresh, we work with some of the most passionate foragers in North America. If you love hiking, backpacking, and exploring the mountains, this is your chance to turn your connection to nature into high-paying seasonal work.

Whether you’re an experienced forager or a beginner eager to learn, we have a place for you.

🌿 Who We’re Looking For

Our ideal forager is:

• Fit, energetic, and enjoys being outdoors for long hours
• Comfortable hiking in high-altitude and steep terrain
• Respectful of nature and private land boundaries
• Willing to learn proper harvesting, handling, and sorting techniques

Some of our team members pick over 100–150 lbs per day, earning up to $600/day or more. Our all-time record? $1,200 in one day during peak morel season. But it takes fitness, focus, and experience — all of which we help you build.

🏫 Rookie or Pro? We Train You On-Site

We offer in-the-field training for all new foragers:

• Learn how to ID trees, fire zones, climates, and mushroom behavior
• Get equipped with proper gear and mapping apps to track your patches
• Work alongside expert pickers at our base camps
• Learn to sort and clean your mushrooms the right way
• Understand what to leave behind so you don’t waste time or reduce quality

After a few days of shadowing, you’re free to pick solo. Most new foragers go from 20 lbs/day to 100 lbs/day within a month.

💰 How We Pay Foragers

• Paid per pound, cash on the spot
• Sorting is done at pickup site
• Some foragers earn up to $600–$1,200 per day in peak season
• Work can last 3+ months depending on region and species

🔢 Permits & Legal Requirements

Depending on the state and species, a permit may be required. We’ll help guide you on where to apply for temporary or seasonal foraging permits. You can also work under another permitted team member after proper onboarding.

We require that all team members go through a validation process and work responsibly with our standards.
